The restaurant at Elvey Farm

It's our suppliers that really make Elvey Farm's restaurant so popular. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. We're almost fanatical about getting the best suppliers we can and making sure everything is as fresh and local as possible.

These are just a few of the suppliers we use:

Meat, Poultry and Game
D R Luckhurst, Smarden
All meat is locally reared from surrounding farms. And Dave Luckhurst shoots too, so all our game is fresh and local.

Fruit and Veg
David Catt & Sons
David Catt sources most of his fruit and veg from farms in Boughton Monchelsea. He also uses other farms across Kent.

Fish
Griggs of Hythe
Locally caught where possible. Their boats go out from the Landing Beach at Hythe - and each day they bring us their fresh catch.

Milk
Street Farm Dairy
From a herd of Friesians in High Halden, near Tenterden

Tea and Coffee
Kent Tea Company
Based in Pluckley, Kent Tea Company has a wonderful shop, where you can buy your own supplies. We stock Kentish Roast - and Pluckley tea!! You can't get more local than that!

Ice Creams
Simply Ice Cream
Hand-made ice cream from Bonnington, Ashford

Wine
Biddendenand Chapel Down Vineyards
Our two favourite local vineyards supply us with an array of Kentish wines, ciders and juices. If you've never tried a Kentish wine, give it a go - you won't be disappointed.

Sausages

Gary Boodle, Pluckley
Simply the best sausages around. All from local farms

Eggs
Love Cottage, Bethersden
The chickens that lay our eggs aren't just free-range - they're positively spoilt! They live at Love Cottage, with acres of land to run around in - and they've all got names!

Bread
Homebake
Alan from Homebake in Lenham makes all our bread himself. He's got his own special recipe for Kentish Huffkins.

Jams and Marmalade
Sugar and Spice, Hollingbourne
Edna makes all her own jams and marmalades, in her own home. We love going there - the place smells wonderful, as she's always got something on the go.

Water
Garden of England Produce
Brenda is based in Horsmonden near Tonbridge. She supplies us with Kingsdown water for our rooms

Honey
Mr Bumble
We presume this isn't his real name! His bees are just down the road, near the station in Pluckley. And their honey is superb.

Beer
Shepherd Neame, Faversham
We serve a good range of Kentish beers and lagers. Why not try Whitstable Bay? It's organic - and very tasty.

The Taste of Kent Awards

A huge thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Taste of Kent Awards. Out of 90 restaurants, we've reached the Top Three! That's some achievement.

Meet the team

The small and friendly bar

Produced in Kent is a membership organisation dedicated to championing local food, drink, products and services in Kent. They promote local and seasonal produce and provide support and services for Kent businesses.

We do our bit here at Elvey Farm... we've developed strong links with our local suppliers, making sure all our meat, fish and potatoes are locally grown - and our veg too. This also extends to our guest rooms, from soaps to shampoos, to tea and coffee. So whether you're eating sausages from the Pluckley butcher for breakfast, or tucking into some fresh fish from Hythe at dinner, or sampling wine from Biddenden and Chapel Down, you can be assured you're experiencing the very best Kent can offer.
