Head to Thanet, and you'll find a whole host of seaside towns, each with its own distinctive character. Broadstairs is a beautiful town, with pubs, shops, restaurants, and a lovely, unspoilt beach. Overlooking the town, Bleak House, made famous by Broadstairs' most renowned resident, Charles Dickens.
Whitstable
A fisherman's paradise. Have a mooch along the sea front and watch the fishermen bring in their catch. Plenty of oysters, cockles, and fresh, fresh fish. Of course, you just HAVE to have lunch in one of the fish restaurants, looking out over the sea.
Ramsgate
This is where the yachts are. Spend some time wandering along the marina, imagining you own your own boat. Hang out with the yachts men and women in one of the many trendy wine bars on the marina.
