Darling Buds of May - a stage-show on the
set of the original TV series

Amazingly it’s been 20 years since Darling Buds of May made stars of Catherine Zeta Jones, David Jason – and of course our very own corner of Kent.

To commemorate this event, The Egerton Players is staging a full-scale production of The Darling Buds of May, on the actual set of the TV series!

The audience will sit in the farmyard and the action will take place on the exact site of the TV show.  There will be real chickens, a real Rolls Royce, and plenty of treats galore.    As well as the antics of Pop, Ma and friends, there will be a live band playing 1950s classics, singing, dancing… and a special treat – maypole dancing and singing from the children at Egerton School.

The play runs from Thursday 19th May to Sunday 22nd May.  Performances are at 7.30pm, with a matinee on Saturday 21st at 2pm.  Tickets are £8 for adults, £6 for Senior Citizens and children under 17.  For the Saturday matinee, there are special family tickets, where two adults and two children can watch the show for just £25.  Doors open an hour before the show, so feel free to come along early and bring a picnic.  Or you can take advantage of the Beer Tent.  For the Saturday matinee, there are donkey rides too!

Tickets are available from Egerton Village Store or by calling 01233 756 188.
